My Story
Hi, I'm Lucy and I am the face behind BrightFox Photography. I am a wife to my wonderful husband and mother to two amazing children. I pride myself on eating copious amounts of pasta and cooking a damn good carbonara; remembering all the details of stories that my friends would probably rather forget; spending more time than I should admit researching everything from holidays and restaurants to wedding suppliers and baby names; eating several Easter eggs a week, the second they hit the shelves; reading all the Harry Potter books in three weeks while I was on my honeymoon; being pretty good at quizzes with celebrity gossip being my top subject; watching all the films nominated each award season; throwing great dinner parties with multiple courses and multiple wines and taking a million and one photographs at any given opportunity.
I have always had a love for photography. I used to bring my digital camera on every night out and I have a physical album of photographs for every year dating back to my teens. I have wanted to pursue this career for a long time but the opportunity arose while I was on maternity leave with my second child. As much as I pride myself on having a good memory, I didn't have the capacity to remember all the little moments before my children had grown again. I wanted to capture the ordinary moments that seem to last forever but are gone in a minute and this reignited my love for photography.

What is in a name?
While I have always loved photography, it was when I became a mother and acutely aware of how quickly the time goes, that I was inspired to pick up my camera again. I felt it was only right that I included my children when I was thinking of a name for my business.
We named our first child Niamh. Our little lady was put in an incubator for the first week of her life. When I looked back at the short (long) list I had made, and the meanings of each name, Niamh meant bright and radiant and Niamh was receiving light therapy for her jaundice. It seemed to fit right into place.
Our second born is a son named Kit. Traditionally Kit is short for Christopher which means "bearer of Christ". Our little Kit was born on Easter Sunday so again it just seemed to fit. What has this got to do with BrightFox I hear you ask? Well nothing, as I couldn't quite make "Bright Bearer of Christ" work as a brand name. Kit is also the name of a baby fox so this seemed to work a little better.
